Remixed by Elbert Phillips
Once again Chicago House legend Elbert Phillips has been commissioned to work his magic on the A.MA Records catalogue and once again he chose an Antonio Trinchera track to do so. With the original groove of The Tractor and the Child taken from Antonio Trinchera's recent release Fauves, a masterpiece of jazz and electronica fusion, this was an innovative choice of track to continue the A.MA Reforged series of remixes.
Personally selected by Frankie Knuckles to be the House Godfather's warm-up DJ, Chicagoan native Elbert Phillips is mined from the seam of the Chicago House music scene. Elbert is a producer and remixer who has worked with Josh Milan, Ursula Rucker, Andre Espeut, Shamrock Guitor, Carla Prather, Terrene and Nimbus Sextet for Acid Jazz Records in London and founded his own label 'Entegrity Music' in 2018. He produces the 'Monthly Statement' show for UK station Soul-Power Radio and was a contributing editor to the specialist House Music publication '5 Magazine'. Guitarist Antonio Trinchera's Fauves fuses his twin musical passions of Jazz and Electronica in analbum which takes as its theme the manifesto of the French 19th Century Fauvism art movement. Just as the Fauves painters were characterised by their use of colour as a means of representing emotion Antonio layers meaning into his tracks by combining electronica with Jazz, pop and poly- rhythms; combining complexity with simplicity to create an emotional and musical fusion. This is no more evident than in the track The Tractor and the Child.
With the original groove gaining much airplay across Europe's specialist Black music stations and the Fauves album receiving rave reviews this remix is sure to be the track to banish any Winter blues.
